How I got a 2012 Mustang

Being one of the first people to order a 2012 Mustang was not something I had intended on doing. I ordered my car as a 2011 Ford Mustang, because it was not even 2011 yet.

Hold on, let's back up.

Why did I even have to order my car?

Thats an interesting point. I ordered my car because the car I wanted is not something they had just sitting on the lot. They searched the inventory from the entire United States to locate the exact car I wanted and they had no such luck.

A Black Mustang V6 Premium with the Performance Package and the MCA package is kinda rare.

By the way, here is an explanation of what is in the Performance Package for those of you that don't know.

2011 Mustang Performance Package upgrades include:
  • A 3.31 rear axle ratio for quicker off-the-line acceleration
  • Mustang GT coupe front and rear stabilizer bars
  • Mustang GT front struts and rear shocks/springs
  • Shelby GT500 rear lower control arm
  • Unique 19-inch wheels
  • Pirelli performance tires for improved grip
  • Mustang GT front and rear brake calipers with Performance Friction pads
  • A strut tower brace for increased body rigidity
  • Unique electronic stability control calibration with Sport mode for performance driving
  • Unique badging

I had no problem ordering my car, since I was not looking to settle for anything but exactly what I wanted.

Why did I get the Mustang V6 and not the 5.0?

I am 20. Case closed.

And no, my parents are not buying me a car. Work hard and get what you want. The end.

Finally ordered my 2012 Ford Mustang

Hello all,
Obviously the new Ford Mustang is an unbelievable machine. Wanting one since childhood, I think it's about time to take the plunge and buy one.

Most people don't share my anal-meticulous madness, but I am way to specific about what I want and how it looks. The only remedy for this insanity is to build and order my own car. I placed my order for my 2011 Ford Mustang on November 30, 2010.

A few weeks later, Greenway Ford in Orlando, Florida called me to inform me that I had missed the deadline for all 2011 Ford Mustang orders, and that my car would indeed be a 2012. I have no clue why, but something about the release of the 2012 BOSS 302 influenced this years order's. Here I am on January 2, 2011 and my car is due to be built on January 11, 2011. Ironically this is my mother's birthday.

I still have no clue if my 2012 Mustang will have incentives or rebates, but I sure hope so. This car is pretty expensive after all the options I added.

Here's a look at what I ordered:
2012 Ford Mustang V6 Premium
6-Speed Manual
Ebony Exterior, Saddle Leather Interior (my favorite colors)
Mustang Club of America 203A
Performance Package
HID Headlights and Security Package

Total MSRP is roughly $30,190.
The picture above is not my car, its just very similar to what I would be getting, I'll  definitely post pics once I get it.
